Facebook sues MobiBurn and Nakrutka for violating user data collection rules

MobiBurn allows you to collect data for advertising, and Nakrutka to wind up likes on Instagram.

Facebook has filed lawsuits in the US and UK against Britain’s MobiBurn, which provides advertising tools to mobile app developers. Lawsuits were also filed against OakSmart Technologies and its founder Fatih Khaltas, reported Facebook.

When users installed apps, MobiBurn collected information from devices and requested data from Facebook, including name, time zone, email address, and gender. Facebook claims that MobiBurn used a malicious SDK to collect information.

Facebook began scrutinizing MobiBurn following a report from security researchers on its data abuse search bounty program. The company sent a letter to the developer and asked for an audit, but MobiBurn did not cooperate.

Also Facebook and Instagram have filed lawsuits in federal court in San Francisco against Nikolai Holper for using the Nakrutka service. The site allows you to wind up likes, comments, views and followers on Instagram using bots.

The company also sent a letter to Holper warning him of a violation of social media rules and disabled the accounts associated with him.
