Facebook says it will help users with information on Covid-19 symptoms and vaccines

Social media giant Facebook Friday announced plans to help its users in India access authoritative information on Symptoms of covid19 and vaccines.

This is in addition to the recent announcement from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to donate $ 10 million to emergency response efforts in India.

“As India grapples with the current wave of Covid-19, we are committed to doing our part to support local communities across the country with medical supplies and other lifesaving equipment, ”the tech giant said in a Facebook post.

Social media platform to partner with Center to deploy vaccine search tool on mobile appli in India this week. The tool, available in 17 languages, will help people identify nearby places to get vaccinated.

Users can access the tool from the Covid-19 information center on the app.

The tech giant will support NGOs and United Nations agencies in India with advertising credits and information to reach the majority of people on Facebook with the Covid-19 vaccine and preventative health information, according to the post.

Facebook will also provide health resources UNICEF India on when to seek emergency care and how to manage mild symptoms of Covid-19 at home.

“The information is accessible and visible on Facebook’s Covid-19 information center and in Feed. On Instagram, we promote this information through Guides in Explore, ”the social media giant said.
