With the end of Pride Month, Facebook has released a new guide outlining how businesses can show their support for LGBTQ + people beyond Pride Month.
As Facebook explains:
“Pride Month is an opportunity for businesses and marketers to stop and consider how we can become better allies in the LGBTQ + community. But the work is too important to finish in June. When companies speak out, people listen and, by highlighting community voices, celebrating and upholding the value of LGBTQ + lives, educating ourselves and others, and proudly taking public positions that show continued support for the diversity and individuality, we can seize the opportunity to push society toward greater acceptance and inclusion.
The 21-page guide includes a variety of statistics and notes that underscore the importance of supporting LGBTQ + and improving representation, in all its forms.
The guide also includes notes on how brands can contribute to improvement and examples of case studies of companies that have diversified their promotions.
These are important notes and there is definitely a growing awareness of companies that are simply adding a rainbow logo to their social profiles for the month of June, but are not actually taking concrete steps to improve representation or address these. elements.
To improve, real action is required, and this guide provides some helpful notes and tips to consider in your approach.
