KOMPAS.com – Meta (before Facebook Inc.) has finally expanded the availability of the short video feature Reels on Facebook. Not only that, Meta also adds editing tools and new content monetization features on the website Facebook Reels.
Starting today, Wednesday (23/2/2022), Facebook Reels is available for Facebook users globally in 150 countries, including Indonesia.
This news was delivered directly by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in an upload on his personal Facebook account.

Before being released globally, the Facebook Reels feature was first released for Facebook users in the United States at the end of September 2021.
As is known, the Reels short video feature was originally only accessible on other social media under the auspices of Meta, namely Instagram. This feature was first released on Instagram in 2020.
Two years later, Meta finally helped bring this feature to Facebook. Just like on Instagram, Facebook users can create Reels video content accompanied by a variety of music, effects, and more.

Monitoring KompasTekno on Wednesday morning, Facebook Reels was already available on the Facebook application version 354.0.0.22.110 for Android phones in Indonesia.
Users will be able to find the “Reels” tab between the “Stories” and “Rooms” tabs on the Facebook app’s home page.
When the “Reels” tab is clicked, users can create Reels videos in the “Create reel” menu which has a very similar appearance to the create menu. reels on Instagram.
Also in the “Reels” tab, users can see all Facebook Reels videos posted by other users by scrolling up, just like on Instagram Reels. Users can also leave comments, likes (like), and share Facebook Reels videos.

New editing and monetization features
Mark Zuckerberg himself hopes that Reels can be the best place for content creators to connect with their fans/community as well as a place to make a living.
For this reason, Meta adds new editing and monetization features to Facebook Reels.
For new features, now, Facebook Reels features a remix (duet with other Reels videos) and video durations of up to 60 seconds, just like on Instagram Reels.
Then, there is also a new draft feature that allows users to save Facebook Reels videos as drafts or drafts in the near future.
In addition, in the next few months, Facebook Reels will also have a video clipping feature, which will make it easier for creators who publish live or long videos to test various formats.
The monetization feature, aka getting money from Facebook Reels, is in the form of two display ads overlay semi-transparent in Reels video content.
The first is an advertisement in the form of a transparent banner located below the Reels video. While the second is an advertisement in the form of a semi-transparent sticker that can be displayed anywhere on a user’s Reels video.
In a post on official siteMeta mentions that two forms of advertising overlay it doesn’t distract from the viewer’s view and instead allows creators to earn revenue from advertising.
According to Meta, trial of new monetization feature using ads overlay it’s only available to Facebook Reels creators in the US, Canada, Mexico only, and in more countries in the coming weeks.
“We’ll also be rolling out full-screen and immersive ads among Reels content soon,” Zuckerberg wrote.
