A dialog box will then appear in which you must confirm the action. To do so, tap the button Turn offFrom now on, the messenger will hide your active status. There is apparently no separate selection, as in the browser, of which contacts should be excluded. Here, at least in the current version of the app, the all-or-nothing principle applies.

First, open the Facebook website in your browser at “www.facebook.com”.

If you are not automatically logged in, enter your login details and click the Login button.

Now click on the three dots next to each other in the area where your contacts are displayed.

A menu will then open from which you can select the entry “Turn off active status”.

Facebook will then display a pop-up with three options. The last radio button is activated by default.

To hide your online status from all your contacts, activate the top option and confirm the change with the OK button.

If you use the Messenger app, first log in with your Facebook account details.

A menu will now appear from which you can select “Active Status”.

In the following dialog, tap the switch next to the option “Show when you are active”.
