Last year, Facebook Messenger launched cross-app messaging between Messenger and Instagram. Communication between applications has made it easier for people to stay connected without thinking about which application they are using. In fact, more than 70% of eligible people on Instagram have upgraded to the new Messenger experience to enjoy new features like cross-app communication.
To build on this huge boost, the company announced the launch of group communication between apps. With this update, people will be able to start group chats between their Instagram and Messenger contacts. Within these cross-app group chats, you can continue to personalize your chat experience with custom chat themes and reactions.

They are also including the polls in their Instagram direct messages and group chats with friends through Messenger and Instagram, making it easier for the group to decide which new show is more binge-worthy or which restaurant they will go to next weekend.
You will continue to have the same controls over who can contact you. With delivery controls, you decide who gets to your chat list, who goes to your message request folder, and who can’t message or call you. Facebook Messenger has also been working to release new expressive chat themes for everyone to enjoy on Messenger and Instagram.
To experience the popularized Gen Z aesthetic, they introduced the Cottagecore chat theme. The theme is inspired by a romanticized pastoral world, and now you can personalize your chats with this niche theme.
