Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg | Iceland ridicules the Facebook boss – now the video goes viral

The Facebook billionaire may appear to have an unknown brother – from Iceland.

Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg announced earlier this autumn that there would be big news, and in early November, the boss himself released the news that the Facebook company will change its name to Meta.

In this context, a video was also published, in which Zuckerberg shows the vision for the company, and its new direction.

– It is time to develop a new company name that embraces everything we work with. To reflect what we are and what we hope to build, I am proud to present that our company is now called Meta, said Zuckerberg (see the video below).

Zuckerberg-parodi

It seems that Iceland’s response to Visit Norway, Inspired by Iceland has received the video clip about «Metaverse». They came up with a new commercial, where you do not have to be a rocket scientist to see where they have taken inspiration from.

A guy who calls himself Zuck shows in the video the completely new concept «Icelandverse». Watch the video here:

In the original video, the Meta boss shows off the so-called alternative world “Metaverse”, which is a place where you “can do absolutely everything you can imagine”, as Zuckerberg describes it.

In the Icelandic copy, the character Zuck strangely enough wears an exact similar outfit to his American double. He is also just as stiff and awkward when he has to interact with the camera and gesture with his arms.

– Hello and welcome to a very natural setting. Today I will talk about a revolutionary way you can connect the world, without being very strange, says Zuck.

Everything is completely real

In the same packaging as Zuckerberg presented “Metaverse”, this time “Icelandverse” is presented. In a clever way, the Icelander explains what Iceland has to offer in a Zuckerberg-like way. Because in Iceland, everything is completely real, in contrast to Zuckerberg’s “Metaverse”.

– In our open world experience, everything is completely real. It is simply immersive with water that is wet (he says as he splashes his hand in the water). You can also meet real people you can interact with, he says as he greets a woman while taking a refreshing dip in a geyser.

Gets bragged: Actually a good parody

Several media outlets have picked up the Icelandic commercial, and it is generally praised for taking the Facebook entrepreneur by storm.

“Iceland’s parody video of ‘Meta’ is actually very good,” writes the website The Verge.

Forbes Magazine calls the video “epic trolling by Mark Zuckerberg.”

On the social media platform Twitter, the hashtag #Icelandverse has also gained momentum.

– Finally a “verse” I can stand behind, writes a user on Twitter.

– The best “verse” so far !! Icelandverse is impressive, immersive and spacious, writes another user.

Take it with a smile

And the main character himself has also seen the Icelandic advertising video. He has commented on the advertisement on the tourist agency’s Facebook page.

– Incredible. I really need to take a trip to Icelandverse soon. Glad you use sunscreen too, the Facebook billionaire concludes.

Mark Zuckerberg himself is not known for being a miser when it comes to sunscreen.
