On June 28, around 11 a.m., police in Michigan received several calls from concerned people.
A local social media celebrity was killed during a Facebook live broadcast, police were told.
46-year-old Terrill Smith lost his life during the live broadcast.
According to the viewers of the fatal live broadcast, an argument broke out between Terrill and a commentator. The commentator threatened Terrill.
According to the dead man’s mother, the conflict broke out after Terrill publicly laughed at a video of the fight. Terrill laughed at the guy getting hit. His family found out and were not happy. The family of the beaten man allegedly threatened to kill Terrill during the live broadcast.
“While Terrill was live streaming from his Facebook profile, the shooting was heard/seen by many,” police said. The police say that several thousand people heard the murder. The killers reportedly fired 30 shots at Terrill.
On July 1, the police arrested a group of three people, suspecting them of the murder. A 24-year-old man and two women have been arrested. 41-year-old Marita Bonner and 25-year-old Jeremy Kastion are suspected of organizing and carrying out the murder, according to a police statement.
Terrill gained popularity on Facebook by creating live broadcasts and expressing a very open opinion on various topics.
