Facebook is still testing interoperability with WhatsApp and more – Marseille News

Facebook has been considering merging Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp for some time. More recently Instagram and Messenger have become one and now there is news about WhatsApp and Messenger integration.

Leaked Italian Alessandro Paluzzi found a recent hidden change in Facebook Messenger, according to WABetaInfo: a WhatsApp chat inside.

It is not yet possible to integrate the two services, but Paluzzi has simply forced a thread to be recognized as a WhatsApp conversation to show what it will look like when the feature becomes available in the future.

The leak implies that the connection between WhatsApp and Messenger will be completely optional, as is already the case between Instagram and Messenger. WABetaInfo says that “several features already implemented on Facebook Messenger could also come to WhatsApp.”

Another feature that the app is testing through the TestFlight beta program is a redesigned mention badge, which is different from a response in a group chat.

WABetaInfo says it is still being tested for iOS so it may take some time to show up in the WhatsApp account.

Earlier this week, the app also brought a “Message Disappearance” feature to all users in group chat and enhanced media preview. You can find out more here.
