The social networking company Facebook has extended the blocking of former US President Donald Trump’s accounts until January 2023.
A statement released by Facebook on Friday, May 5 said Trump will be able to resume using his Facebook and Instagram accounts on January 7, 2023, if Facebook admits that the former president no longer poses a threat to public safety.
“At the end of this period, we will ask experts to assess whether the risk to public safety has diminished,” said Nick Kleg, vice president of Facebook.
The company “Facebook” on January 7 for an indefinite period banned Tramp from using accounts on the social networks “Facebook” and “Instagram” managed by it, admitting that Trump had incited the January 6 riots in the Capitol.
In response to Facebook’s decision to extend the ban until 2023, Trump issued a statement saying “they should not go unpunished for this censorship and silence, and eventually we will win.”
Trump also threatened that “next time I am at the White House, there will be no more dinner with [“Facebook” vadītāju] Mark Zakerberg and his wife at his request. “
