Recently, Meta decided to make a big update of all of its applications: Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook. Here’s what’s new
At the beginning of the week, the Meta group has just announced a host of updates, particularly on its iOS applications.
A new payment system
This new payment system is called “Split Payments” and will be present in the Messenger application. Indeed with the latter, users can customize and modify their billing system. The addition of this payment system is also accompanied by a simplification of transfers between friends.
Facebook Messenger
A new voice control
The instant messaging application offers new voice recording controls. Indeed, it is now possible to pause, preview, delete or continue recording a voice message before sending it. This functionality is comparable to that available on WhatsApp.
Extended vocal duration
This news will surely please users who use voice messages in their daily lives. Following the update, the duration of a voice on the application goes from one minute to 30 minutes.
An ephemeral fashion
Finally, the application introduces a disappearing mode. The messages will disappear after a certain period of time. We can compare this to the mode of operation on Snapchat.
As part of Safer Internet Day, Instagram has rolled out a big security update. As a reminder, February 8 is World Safer Internet Day.
Your Activity
Already tested for a few months, this option will give users the opportunity to better manage and visualize their activities. This control center will allow everyone to sort and filter their content and interactions by date to search for comments, likes or replies to old stories.
Account security
“Security Checkup” guides users through the steps necessary to secure their accounts. Whether it’s checking login activity, reviewing profile information, confirming accounts that share login information, and updating account recovery contact information such as a telephone or e-mail address.
The update affects the iPhone’s camera as well as its interface. Thus, the horizontal bar has been replaced by a new button that directly opens the gallery, like the iPhone’s Camera application. This new presentation would avoid inadvertently swiping up and displaying at least six of their personal images. Additionally, the camera icon has also been revised and fixed.
