Several services of the Meta group, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger or Whatsapp, are for many users inaccessible or slowed down this Wednesday evening. Downdetector, a site that allows anyone to report outages, has started recording massive reports from 7 p.m.
On Twitter, where Internet users flock when Facebook and Instagram are down, the keyword #instagramdown quickly rose to social media trends, with more than 10,000 tweets in an hour.
This failure is not the first for the services of the Meta group (which until recently was still called Facebook). These last weeks, the bugs have multiplied. By early October, most important of all, Instagram and the group’s other social networks had been inaccessible for nearly six hours.
