Facebook highlights personalized advertising in this hypnotic spot

Grace Jones lends her voice to a new Facebook ad that underscores the value personalized advertising brings to small businesses.

Iconic singer, actress and model Grace Jones, famous for standing up and breaking down barriers, lend your voice to a new Facebook ad in which the social network highlights the advertising tools of its platform to help small businesses forge closer relationships with their customers.

The spot, signed by the agency Droga5, producer Riff Raff and director David Wilson, put in the spotlight companies (small but “bully”) that want to trust Facebook to give wings to their businesses.

For the ad, which portrays entrepreneurship in its most vibrant aspect, parades a farm that blends yoga with goat farming, a cafeteria focused on the adaptation of kittens and a handbag manufacturer where Africa and the Wild West go hand in hand.

With his particular robotic voice interspersed with sensuality Grace Jones emphasizes in the spot that great ideas deserve to be found (with the invaluable help of personalized Facebook ads of course).

Although Grace Jones’s magnetism is undoubtedly the greatest attraction of the Facebook ad, the truth is that her identity is not revealed at any time. And his hypnotic voice is the perfect counterpoint to the colorful images that the spot draws from.

“We knew beforehand that it was difficult for people to understand the value of the ads that come to their eyes every day on Facebook and Instagram,” says Thom Glover, Creative Director of Droga5. “Our challenge is to tell a story about personalized advertising emphasizing the value of personalized ads”, Add.

And as the common thread of the story, Droga5 chose small businesses with a focus on very specific but extraordinarily fascinating niches.

Some have wanted to see in the latest Facebook ad a new chapter in their all-out war against Apple, with whom the social network has had a bitter controversy for some time because of the new privacy policy of those from Cupertino on iOS.

It so happens that in his battle against Apple Facebook has always argued that personalized advertising to which the apple company is preparing to put stones in the way is vital for the survival of small businesses, which are precisely the protagonists of his new spot.
