Facebook owner Meta has now been fined almost €1 billion by the Irish Data Protection Authority after the latest significant fine.
The regulator on Monday fined Facebook 265 million euros ($277 million) against social media giant Facebook following a series of privacy concerns.
The fine stemmed from an investigation launched in April 2021 in connection with the discovery of a collected dataset of personal Facebook data that had been made available online. Facebook has also been asked to take a number of corrective actions.
