If you live in Spain –or any other country in the European Union– and open direct messages from the Instagram app, it is very likely that you will find a notice like the one in the image that heads this article. In it, it is indicated that some functions of the messaging service have been disabled temporarily.
According explain in The Verge, Facebook has been forced to disable some features of two of its messaging services, Messenger and Instagram Direct, due to the new rules imposed by the European Union regarding instant messaging services.
While the company you have not confirmed which functions this notice refers to, we do know that utilities such as polls are no longer available.
