Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg ‘Attack’ Apple at Clubhouse

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Facebook and Apple are not getting along. The social media giant protested Apple’s new privacy policy that will affect the company’s digital advertising business.

The protest was again voiced by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a virtual discussion on an invitation-only audio application Clubhouse. He stressed his concerns about Apple’s privacy policy changes that would hurt small business and Facebook development.

“In fact I am confident we will be able to control the site well and will be in a good position for us. I think we might be in a stronger position if Apple’s change encourages more business to trade on our platform,” quipped Mark Zuckerberg.

Mark Zuckerberg said Apple’s new privacy policy will make it more difficult for small businesses and application developers to navigate the company.

In its new privacy policy, Apple will label third-party applications that retrieve data and track users. Applications must also ask permission when data is retrieved. The concern is that many users will refuse to provide data. This threatens Facebook’s digital advertising business.

On the other hand, app labeling policies for retrieving data and asking user permission when retrieving data do not apply to Apple apps. Because the application is already installed by default on the iPhone and iPad.

Facebook also accused this action of discriminating and benefiting Apple. Facebook also accused the new privacy policy that will be launched in the middle of this year when the iOS14 update is for Apple’s business interests.

Apple itself accuses this policy of benefiting the company. This policy was created with the aim of providing more control over iPhone user data.
