Epic Games and Facebook have a common enemy called Apple. Steve Satterfield, Head of Privacy and Public Policy at Facebook, declared that it is “Really important that the court understands the profound impact of unfair Apple policies”.
It all started when Epic activated an alternative payment system to the one imposed by Apple in the Fortnite game for iPhone and iPad. While respecting the contract, Apple withdrew Fortnite from the store, but Epic decided to launch a media and legal battle against Apple in an attempt to curb the “monopoly of the App Store”.
Facebook, which recently criticized Apple on the privacy issue, has decided to officially support Epic Games in this legal battle.
