The notification also includes a time, so users know when the text was last updated. It is expected that it will take days before the winner of the presidential election is known, as many Americans voted by mail. Counting those votes takes longer.
Facebook says to TechCrunch that the report was sent to the network shortly after Trump claimed victory. Trump’s message was labeled on Facebook stating that election night results may differ from the final results.
