This was evident from a large number of reports DownDetector in Allestoringen.nl, which track outages of popular web services. Also on Twitter users complained widely about the problems within the apps of Facebook and Instagram.
Network configuration
Facebook itself has not reported it. Both services were still accessible for some users, while for others some functions did not work.

Error messages
Error messages were regularly displayed when posting or reloading messages on Facebook or Instagram. A Facebook spokesperson said the problems were due to a change in the ‘network configuration’. They have since been resolved.
This week, the police number 0900-8844 was also hit by a malfunction. That happened two days in a row.
