Facebook account hacked with bad consequences? (school, fear, bullying)

Hallo,

the thing is this:

The son of an acquaintance (17) has had a FB account for a long time and, like all of his classmates, he uses it regularly.

Now his account has been hacked for the second time. The stupid thing is that the hacker basically logs into his son’s profile and then sends nasty things to my son’s friends and acquaintances in his name.

He insults them, provokes them and writes that he wants to fight them.

As a result of these statements, his son was almost beaten up on the way home from school by a distant acquaintance (but of course a FB “friend”). A friend from the parallel class removed him from his profile after sexually suggestive remarks the friendship ended.

He now has a new profile, a new password… nothing changes.

Now we have the IP number from FB from which we logged in last night and this morning.

Does it make sense, does it help, to go to the police with this number and report the whole thing? What do you think is the motivation of the perpetrator, of someone who acts like that?
