The Plenary of Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS), unanimously, appointed Fabrizio Peralta Diaz as the first holder of the Superintendence of Data Protection.
Peralta Diaz He is a doctor of Law; master’s degree in Strategic Studies and International Security; He has completed postgraduate programs in Leadership for Transformation, Governance, Political Leadership and Digital Law.
He was an advisor to the Legal Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic; and the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce; legal director of the Chamber of Industries of Guayaquil; He is an arbitrator at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Quito Chamber of Commerce. He is a university professor.

Peralta must await possession by National Assemblywhich recently took its legislative vacancy.
The Data Protection Superintendence was created after the approval of the Organic Law on Protection of Personal Data by the National Assembly in 2021.
According to Ecuavisasaid entity is the competent authority to impose sanctions for non-compliance in this matter.
