The Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office has issued a direct summons to court for aggravated defamation against Fabrizio Corona and another defendant for an article that appeared in October 2023 on the Dillingernews.it website, in which the former photographic agent plays the role of “de facto editor-in-chief”. Article in which there was talk of an elusive “emotional bond” between the prime minister Giorgia Meloni and the FdI deputy Manlio Messina.
The trial, which arose from the complaints of Meloni, civil party with the lawyer Luca Libra, and of Messina, also a civil party with the lawyer Mattia Serpotta, will begin, as stated in the decree signed by the prosecutor Marcello Viola, by the deputy Letizia Mannella and by prosecutor Giovanni Tarzia, on January 21st in front of the eighth criminal section of Milan.
In addition to Corona, defended by the lawyer Ivano Chiesa, he is also accused Luca Arnaudefended by lawyer Alessio Pomponi. It would have been the former king of the paparazzi, according to the prosecutors, who “procured the ‘false’ news” with “checks which revealed its absolute groundlessness” and would then have “insistently ordered the prompt editing of the article”, also with “altered photographs”. Finally, it was Arnau who wrote it and published it on 20 October last year.
Among the witnesses in the trial, indicated by the prosecutors in the decree, there is also the prime minister herself, a civil party.
