His restaurant, opened in 1979 in the Sant’Ambrogio district, is considered an institution in Florence and so is also described by Michelin guide. In addition to the restaurant, over the years Picchi had opened other well-known businesses in the city, including a trattoria, a theater club (the Teatro del Sale), a Tuscan cooking school and lastly the CiBio, a grocery store inside the Sant’Ambrogio market. Picchi had also written gastronomic books and collaborated with several television broadcasts. The nation writes who had been ill for some time.
