Fabio Luciano Discusses Botafogo’s Victory and Coaching Changes in Brazilian Championship on ESPN’s Resenha da Rodada

Ex soccer player, Fabio Luciano knows the backstage of the football world. On ESPN’s “Resenha da Rodada” program, he highlighted the commemoration of the Botafogo in the 2-0 victory over Vasco, for Brazilian championshipin the first game after leaving Luis Castro.

– Could be a fluke. There is also the game, regional classic, there is rivalry. The celebration I found more intense, it has to do with the departure of the coach. We were athletes, we know the importance of players. It seemed that after Luís Castro left, he was going to lose strength, not have a chance, that messes with the athletes’ pride. This team is strong, with experienced players, with stories of conquests – pointed out Fábio Luciano, in an opinion that djalminha agreed.

– They went on a “let’s show that we can even without Luís Castro” attitude. But not because of him per se. All athletes spoke very highly of the coach, he was a friendly guy, in the middle of the ball it is understood that it was a wonderful proposal and is part of football – Djalminha stressed.

And what should the new coach look like? With Cláudio Caçapa as an intern, the club is looking for a coach.

– Construction has a lot to do with the coach, it has a path absorbed by the athletes and it worked. If a new coach enters or Caçapa even tries to implement new ideas, the group itself will say “let’s go down this path here” – said Fábio Luciano.

– This team has not only been playing for 13 rounds, it comes from last year, it has a face. The coach who arrives will watch four or five games, the team playing really well, how will that change? – asked Djalminha.
