Fabio Di Giannantonio managed to take the first podium finish in his career at MotoGP on MotoGP Australia. He was then surprised by the presence of Marc Marquez.
In the video uploaded by the MotoGP account, Di Giannantonio is chatting with Pecco Bagnaia. The two appeared to be discussing something while looking at the cellphone screen held by Di Giannantonio.
Marc Marquez then appeared from behind them. Marquez patted Di Giannantonio’s shoulder so that Bagnaia and Di Giannantonio were surprised. Marquez then gave a thumbs up gesture before walking again.
“When you are counting the number of days it takes to read all the messages after winning your first MotoGP podium and then Marc Marquez comes to congratulate you,” wrote MotoGP while sharing the video.
Di Giannantonio and Marc Marquez themselves have an indirect relationship. Next season, Di Giannantonio’s position will be replaced by Marc Marquez.
Marc Marquez actually still has a year’s contract at Honda. However, both of them agreed to end cooperation due to the unsatisfactory performance of both countries.

Marc Marquez, who didn’t have a team, was then withdrawn by Gresini Racing. In Gresini, Marc Marquez will duet with Alex Marquez.
Meanwhile, Di Giannantonio this season has been less than satisfactory. However, after being released by Gresini, Di Giannantonio was actually impressive and was able to finish fourth at the Mandalika MotoGP and followed by finishing third at the Australian MotoGP.
