Fabi Vergara: a new musical star is born in Cartagena | THE UNIVERSAL

Music has always been in Fabi Vergara’s life, but until relatively recently he decided to dive headfirst into it. The 42-year-old from Cartagena has recently released his single ‘When I don’t know about you’ and, incidentally, his artistic career.

It is a pop ballad in which he speaks of that kind of “spell” that implies falling in love, of that “moment in which we realize that we fall in love with someone”, but also of the shadows of that feeling: distance, jealousy, wait, doubts and more. The theme, which was launched on August 19 and is available on platforms such as Spotity and YouTube. The author of the song is Nicolás Tovar, recognized for composing famous artists such as Paulina Rubio, Alejandro Fernandez, Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan, among others. A road called music

Fabián has always loved music, and it runs through his veins! He is a relative of Myriam de Lourdes, Carolina Zabino and Jerau, for example, and more importantly: his father, Fabián Augusto De la Espriella, was always linked to the celebration of the Independence of Cartagena and other cultural events in the city.

And although he has decided on Architecture, a profession he studied in Bogotá as soon as he finished school and which he strengthened with a master’s degree in Urbanism, mobility and urban planning in the United States, he never completely distanced himself from music. He always found a way to take courses in interpretation, vocal technique and more, the same ones that he has taken up since 2019 with the firm objective of giving everything for music, although he will continue to be a consultant on urban issues.

In all this exploration that has involved starting his musical facet, Fabián has discovered that his passion is “the pop ballad with ethnic airs that can be Spanish or rhythmic with influences or fusions of more Caribbean sounds” and has released three covers: ‘Trece’ , by the Spanish singer-songwriter Pablo López; ‘If you want it’, by David Visbal, and ‘I know it hurts you’, by Alejandro Fernández.

Fabi Vergara is on Spotify and YouTube, as well as on Instagram (Fabi Vergara Oficial) and Facebook (Fabi Vergara Music).

“Three songs that suited me. It was a way of exploring my style. They are songs that are lent to make arrangements, that I could adapt. I did not make a copy of any of those songs, but adapted them to my style, to my acoustics ”, explains Fabián. (You may be interested: Greeicy Rendón, heading to ‘La Voz España’)
