Manchester City eliminated Tottenham in the 4th round of the FA Cup, the English football cup, on Friday evening in London and therefore qualifies for the fifth round of the competition, won seven times by the club coached by Pep Guardiola.
Despite the domination of the Cityzens in the first period and a goal canceled for offside Oscar Bobb (5th), the two teams parted back to back at half-time with a score of 0-0. In the second half, the domination of the title holders was confirmed and it was finally Nathan Ake who opened the scoring (88th) after a confusing phase in the small rectangle of the ‘Spurs’.
Kevin De Bruyne et Jérémy Dokuboth on the bench at the start of the match, both came on during the match, in the 65th minute, in place of Julian Alvarez and Bobb. In the other matches of the evening, Chelsea and Aston Villa conceded a 0-0 draw. Romeo Lavia was absent from the match sheet, still injured while Youri Tielemansstarter in the midfield, played 82 minutes and was replaced by Zaniolo. The two teams will decide in a traditional ‘replay’, which will be played at Villa Park.
Nottingham Forest et Orel Mangala suffered the same fate by also conceding a 0-0 on the lawn of Bristol City. The two teams will also have to compete for a place in the 5th round during a replay which will take place at the City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest. Mangala was lined up in the starting eleven and played the entire match.
