Max Verstappen conquers the Monaco Grand Prix for the first time in his career. THE RACE
Verstappen at the start keeps the lead, followed by Bottas and Sainz: the Dutch driver immediately tries to take the edge with a series of fast laps, his rival Hamilton is sixth, blocked by Gasly and Norris.
The Verstappen advantage increases, while Bottas after the 22nd lap complains of some tire problems: Sainz is approaching behind him. The twist in the pits: the Finn returned to change tires forced to retire because the front right does not come out (one nut is locked).
Thanks to the misadventures of Mercedes, Verstappen has the green light, and Sainz is second. The Ferrari driver he has an excellent race pace and approaches the Red Bull driver. Behind it is Hamilton, seventh after the break.
After the second lap of pit stop, Verstappen remains in the lead with a reassuring margin over Sainz, in third place is Norris. Hamilton seventh continues his anonymous race. Positions crystallized to the finish.
