F1 and the FIA have confirmed changes to the Sao Paulo GP schedule. Sunday formula is waiting for us, with qualification and race. The main session will be held earlier than planned.
Formula 1 missed out on rain on Saturday and wants to avoid Sunday at all costs. So we learned not only the new time for the qualifying round in Brazil, but also an additional step.
It turned out that a cautious decision was made to hold the race earlier. This is due to the weather forecast, which expects heavy rain tomorrow afternoon as well.
Therefore, the qualifications will take place very early, at 7:30 local time, ie 11:30 Polish time. The race was originally scheduled for 2:00 pm local time, ie 6:00 pm Polish time. However, a decision was made to speed it up by 90 minutes, that is to allow a better weather window and to allow longer waiting times without worrying about sunset.
– This decision is aimed at getting the best possible chance for fans to have a day full of racing experiences – we read in the press release. – The FIA and Formula 1 together believe that the change is a necessary and correct move for the cause of the dedicated fans.
– We thank everyone for their patience today, including fans, drivers, teams, marshals, track staff and the media. We hope to create an interesting event on Sunday.
