F1 champion Max Verstappen installs a simulator on a private jet[F1-Gate.com]

Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen has modified his private jet to install a race simulator on board, Red Bull F1 motorsport adviser Helmut Marko has revealed.

Max Verstappen is known to be a fan of simulator racing and often spends his free time outside of Grand Prix weekends in his home simulator.

Other drivers choose to switch off and stay out of the sport whenever possible, but Max Verstappen is behind the wheel whenever he gets the chance.

“I don’t know about his sims, maybe he doesn’t, but in his sacred space in the house, no one touches his sims,” said Max Verstappen, racing alongside him virtually. Team Redline Director Atze Kerkhoff said.

“It’s his, and when he gets home, it’s his gym.”

And now Max Verstappen wants to spend even more time in the simulator, even on the road to and from the race.

“It’s the other way around,” Helmut Marko told Sport1 when asked if Max Verstappen would focus more on “real racing”.

“I’ve even had a private jet modified so that I can fly simulators in the air in the future. But that’s a good thing too, because Max needs this distraction. Anyway, in terms of winning two titles. did no harm.”

Max Verstappen recently took part in the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans but retired from the event in frustration after experiencing technical problems.

“This is the third time I’ve been kicked out of the game while doing this race,” said Verstappen.

“This is the last time. Five months to prepare to win the championship, lead the championship, two months to try to win this race and they do it like this.”

“To be honest, it’s kind of a joke. It’s presumptuous to call it an event. It’s a clown show.”
