MONTREAL – Red Bull Racing Racer, Max Verstappencame out as the winner of the race F1 GP Kanada 2022. He admitted that he gave everything for the sake of victory because he really enjoyed racing at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal, Monday, June 20, 2022, early in the morning WIB.
Verstappen beat Carlos Sainz Jr (Scuderia Ferrari) in this race. Sainz also had to settle for second place.
Verstappen fought not only with Sainz in this race, but also Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes AMG Petronas). Verstappen also beat Hamilton who finished third.
Overall, he praised the Ferrari drivers. Because, Sainz’s teammate, Charles Leclerc, also performed well by finishing fifth.
“The weekend went pretty smoothly for me, and we can be happy with that. Overall, Ferrari is very fast and strong in racing,” said Verstappen, quoted from Grandprix247, Wednesday (22/6/2022).
Verstappen revealed that he felt the sensation of a real race ahead of the finish line. He said the last two laps were so much fun.
“It was really exciting in the end, the last two laps were really fun, I really raced and I gave everything I have,” added the Dutchman.
“The end-of-race eagle safety car certainly didn’t help, Carlos (Sainz) had fresh tires so it was difficult, I preferred to attack than defend, but luckily it worked. This year too, we seem to be fast on the straights so that helps a lot.”
