F1 22 will not follow in the footsteps of Braking Point, the main story mode of the previous installment’s content. Lee Mather, director of the saga, explains that his disappearance from the poster this season is due to the internal cycles of the studio, and that “he will return in the future”.
The statements appear as part of an interview with the GamingBolt portal, in which Mather indicates his interest in continuing this line of content. “We have had great success with our F1 2021 story mode, Braking Point, from new players and veterans alike, and we are committed to that element. However, this is not part of our immediate plans due to the semi-annual development cycles we have in our internal studios,” comments the director. “But be sure it will come back in the future,” he concludes.
Crossplay in F1 22? will arrive after launch
Some features of F1 22 will miss its July 1 debut. Most notable is the full cross-play integration between all systems, both in the two-player career mode and in social games. Mather assures in the same media that it is due to “a circumstance” independent of “his will” and that it will happen “as soon as possible”. Of course, cross-play between generations of the same family of consoles will be present on “day one”.
On the other hand, the same creation assures that the PS5 and Xbox Series X version will point to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second; its performance in the rest of the systems has not transpired yet. Remember that on PC it will be fully compatible with the main virtual reality devices of the moment.
Alongside the standard edition, the so-called “Champions Edition” will be released, which includes among its contents a 3-day early access. Those who book it will be able to start playing from June 28. Know the details here.
