In this guide, we have divided the tips into two sections for beginners and advanced. All of the information can be helpful, but if you’re an F-Zero veteran, you might want to skip to the advanced section.
However, first things first.
Which ship should I choose?
Personally, we believe Wild Goose is a good early gamebut you’ll have to use the tutorial mode and try each mode to find your favorite.
All ships have certain dos and don’ts – here are the basics:

It sounds obvious, but if you’re not familiar with circuits, use the practice mode and learn about them!

Slow down the charging bar
If your power meter is low, there’s nothing stopping you from idling in the pit area if you need more power on the next lap. Better to be safe than sorry.

Slow down in general!
Of course, you want to get around the track as quickly as possible, but with 98 other drivers crowding the track, don’t be afraid to slow down a bit and let the group wear itself out.
Behind the bosses you can also collect more Super Sparks (yellow orbs) that fall when the cars collide, which you can use to go up the Skyway – more on that later.
Slowing down will also lead to Naturally– Make turns much easier.
Try to touch the throttle around turns
If you don’t want to use the brakes (phew!), try tapping the accelerator when exiting a corner – this will give you better cornering grip.

Use the speed boost feature in straight lines…

Knowing when to use the normal speed boost (A) function can be difficult, and experienced drivers will be able to deploy it successfully in almost no time.
However, if you’re starting out, it’s best to follow straight paths so you don’t run into obstacles without completely wasting your incentive and possibly retiring early.

On some trails (like Mute City 1), you’ll quickly notice people rushing to the slower “gravel” streets. Maybe you should too.
Super Sparkle Collection

These yellow orbs (Super Sparks) are the keys to filling the Super Boost gauge and (temporarily) ascending the Skyway above the main chain. Be sure to pick one up on your way.
Hit the big gold car for more Super Sparks!
That big, shiny, gold car that shows up periodically? Hit it to get a bunch of Super Sparks and fill up the Super Boost meter faster.
Don’t forget your spin attack
Tapping “ZL” or “ZR” briefly flips your car. Hitting other racers with a Spin Attack will take a large portion of their power meter and can result in a KO if their power is low enough. Spin attacks only work after a short cooldown, so watch until the gauge fills up (or listen to the audio signal that it’s ready).
Spin Attacks can also be used defensively to fend off invading racers and give them a taste of their own medicine.

Spin attacks charge immediately after hitting the jump ramp
If you’re approaching a jump pad and your spin attack is charged, you can also press ‘NW’ or ‘ZL’ before the ramp as it will instantly increase your spin attack meter when you hit it. You might get a look.

Use the Skyway strategically

Look for opportunities to avoid difficult sections of the course by upgrading the Skyway at strategic times.

Try to remember the bigger picture when chasing podium finishes in individual races: Is it worth risking everything? now? How do competitors work?
You are given four rivals to defeat in each race. Simply put, these are random players who walk up and assess your skills. Beat them in races and your rating goes up, lose to them and you go down.
