As the White House announced, the pilots in the USA are to be trained for the use of F-16 fighter jets.
The two presidents also discussed expedited approval for other nations wishing to hand over their F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. Biden sent his regards to Ukraine on its Independence Day.
Zelenskyj said on Friday night that he had spoken to Biden and thanked him for the US President’s greetings and support from the United States. “Together we are proving that it is worth fighting for freedom and independence,” says Zelenskyj.
Russia reports attacks
Russia reports one of Ukraine’s most powerful rocket and drone attacks to date on targets in Moscow and on the illegally annexed Crimean Peninsula. The Defense Ministry in Moscow announced on Friday that the Ukrainian armed forces had attacked Crimea with 42 drones. A Ukrainian S-200 missile was shot down in the Russian region of Kaluga, which borders the Moscow region. No one was injured, said regional governor Vladislav Shapsha.
