F-16 fighter jets may start patrolling the Ukrainian skies this fall. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine hinted at the “air force blockbuster”.
“Already this fall! The biggest air force blockbuster of all time! F-16 in the skies of Ukraine! We will protect our skies!”, – writes the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
F-16 for Ukraine
Recently, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte announced that they are working together to create a coalition of fighters to transfer the F-16 to Ukraine.
A number of countries declared their readiness to transfer their aircraft to our soldiers, but the United States of America for some time prohibited the start of exercises for our pilots. Already during the G7 summit, the head of the White House, Joe Biden, announced that the States support the joint efforts of allies and partners to train the military on fourth-generation fighters, including the F-16.
The agency spoke about why our military needs fighter jets and why the allies are in no hurry to transfer them. In particular, Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleshchuk described all the capabilities of the F-16.
