Several explosive devices, including rockets and grenades, were found abandoned inside bags at the entrance to a campsite belonging to the Ezeiza district of Buenos Aires, police spokesmen reported today.
The discovery occurred in the Camino Real and Camino Club Hípico, at the entrance to the Union of Superior and Professional Personnel of Aerocommercial Companies (UPSA), in Barrio Uno de Ezeiza.
Until then, members of the Explosives Directorate of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA) were summoned by order of the federal justice, which intervened in the event after the discovery was reported.
The shipment contained a total of 133 items. Police spokesmen detailed that it involved 46 MB66 rockets, two M63 rifle grenades, 15 81mm mortar projectiles, two FMK1 model “0” rifle grenades; 59 FMK3 model “1” rifle grenades and nine 65AC rifle grenades.
All the kidnapped elements were put at the disposal of the Federal Court 4 of Lomas de Zamora.
According to the informants, some of the explosive devices were detonated due to their danger.
It is an unusual find both for the type of artifacts and for the quantity. The hypothesis that sources close to the case slipped to the portal Infobae is that explosives, medium or long-term, are used in military practices. “This could all be gross negligence,” they said. (Telam and Infobae)
