The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has begun to study the possible link between the Johnson & Johnson vaccine against the new coronavirus and the thrombi that have developed in four people after being vaccinated with the vaccine. One of these people is dead. New tests have also been launched for possible side effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
European Medicines Agency admitted this weekthat the formation of blood clots should be reported as a very rare side effect of the Covid-19 vaccine manufactured by AstraZeneca. However, attention is now being paid to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which has not yet been introduced in Europe.
The drug agency reported that in the United States, four cases of unusual platelet counts with low platelet counts have developed in humans in the United States following vaccination with Johnson & Johnson.
At the same time, new tests have been launched for the side effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine, as five cases of high-grade capillary leakage syndrome have been reported, causing swelling and a drop in blood pressure. Following the investigation, the ESA will decide whether any regulatory changes are necessary.
