‘Eyes of Fire’ bubbling like molten lava on the surface of the Gulf of Mexico

PEOPLE’S MIND – Sea level west of Yucatan, Gulf of Mexico fire was reported as early as Friday 2 July 2021.

The fire, which was allegedly caused by a gas leak from an underwater pipe that started the fire, was caught in a video that went viral on social media.

The bright orange flame sticking out of the water resembling molten lava is also known as the ‘eye of fire’ on social media.

The nickname was given, because the fire that burned not far from the Pemex oil platform was circular.

Mexico’s state oil company, Pemex also stated that the fire has now been successfully extinguished.

According to Pemex, the fire took more than five hours to completely extinguish.

The fire started in an underwater pipeline connecting to a platform on the Ku Maloob Zaap oil development, Pemex’s most important platform.

This Ku Maloob Zaap oil development platform is also located just from the south bank Gulf of Mexico.
