Eye Poke Ends UFC Fight Night 235 Match After Just 11 Seconds – No Contest Declared

Several months of preparation and then the end after 11 seconds. MMA is like that too.

Uzbek, also representing the Czech Republic, Makhmud Muradov started his seventh match in the most prestigious organization (4-2, overall 26-8). At UFC Fight Night 235 in Apex, Las Vegas, he faced undefeated Dagestani Aliaschab Chizrijev (12-0, 1-0 in UFC). According to bookmakers, he was a slight outsider (1.54 – 2.35).

The fight ended after the initial exchange. Chizriyev accidentally poked his opponent’s eye with his finger. Muradov had a convulsion after being poked in the eye, and he could not open it even after a pause. Veteran referee Herb Dean stopped the match after consulting a doctor.

The official verdict is “no contest” after an accidental poke in the eye. Both fighters did not hide their disappointment. The UFC can be expected to schedule a rematch at one of the following tournaments.

Muradov wrestled for the first time since July last year, when he won after two losses. He previously had a 14-fight winning streak, three of which came in the UFC. He is a former fighter of the Octagon, he manages his own MMA organization in Uzbekistan.
