The draft to the overseas NHL is approaching unstoppably. The selection of the greatest young hockey talents in the world will take place in Montreal, Canada in early July.
He recently provided his view of the most hopeful skaters from the “old continent” official site of the overseas profiligy and the director of the NHL European Scouting – Goran Stubb. It has long been publicly said that Juraj Slafkovský should most likely be the highest drafted European.
Goran Stubb said to the address of the Slovak representative: “Juraj Slafkovský is a junior player in the senior body. He is big, fast and extremely handy. He played a difficult role in his TPS club because the Finnish team relies on a disciplined and defensive style. So he could not collect as many points as in the national team. However, his game in the offensive zone is incredible. “
It will also be interesting to see which team is the first to reach one of the Russian hockey players. “I’m afraid the clubs will play a waiting game in their case, which is a shame,” states the director of the European Scouting NHL.
According to the scouts, Danil Jurov from Magnitogorsk and Ivan Mirošničenko from Omsk should be among the highest drafted Russians. An unanswered question for the time being, however, is what the young Russian hockey players actually have for the “big bang” future.

CZECH-SLOVAK RIVALITY?
There is an interesting rivalry between the Slovak Šimon Nemec and the Czech David Jiříček before the upcoming draft, who apparently will fight for the position of the highest-ranked defender in this year’s draft. Both already have experience with senior hockey, but in their game you can find several significant differences.
“David Jiříček suffered an ugly knee injury at the World Junior Championships and was eliminated for two and a half months. However, he managed to return and, to everyone’s surprise, was nominated for the Czech Republic at the World Championships. It is taller and has a more mature impression on ice. However, both players are very explosive.
Šimon Nemec is rather a creator of the game and an excellent recorder. Sometimes it hurts a little by complicating individual situations too much. David Jiříček likes to support the attack and pushes himself to the end, he is significantly offensive. On the other hand, Šimon Nemec’s play was disheartening. However, both hockey players are extremely handy, ” notes for official NHL website Director of European Scouting – Goran Stubb.
