Extreme Winter Weather Paralyzes Scandinavia and Parts of Europe, Ninth Storm Expected to Hit British Coast

Heavy snowfall accompanied by blizzards paralyzed the Scandinavian countries, bTV reports. The situation is difficult in the mountainous regions and in many other countries on the continent.

Many roads remain closed in Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. The work of both airports and railway transport was disrupted.

In the coming hours, the ninth storm of the season is expected to hit the British coast.

Meteorologists warn of heavy rainfall and winds of up to 130 km/h during the weekend.

A lot of snow and arctic cold also froze the Northwestern and Northeastern states of America.

The situation is also complicated because of blizzards. In Nebraska, temperatures fell to minus 34 degrees Celsius in places.

In Bulgaria from tomorrow there will be heavy snowfall with the formation of a snow cover between 5 and 15 centimeters, in the mountainous regions – up to 25-30 centimeters. There will also be a sharp drop in temperatures, accompanied by moderate winds, with conditions for blizzards and squalls. This is reported in the map with the warning codes for dangerous meteorological phenomena, published on the NIMH website, cited by BTA.
