Extreme Weather Alert: Heavy Rains and Flooding in Yamaguchi Prefecture

Due to the heavy rains, the rivers flowing through the central and western parts of Yamaguchi Prefecture have risen, and flood danger information (equivalent to alert level 4) has been announced for the Sawarano River and other rivers.

As of 2:30 on the 1st (Sat), the designated rivers for which flood risk information has been announced include the Niho River in the Sawarano River system in Yamaguchi City, the Sawarano River in the Sawarano River system, the Saba River flowing through Yamaguchi City and Hofu City, and Ube City. It is the Koto River, which flows through the Koto River system.

If the surrounding area has not yet started to flood, evacuate to a safe place. If the surrounding area has already started to flood, please secure your own safety by moving to a place in the building that is as far away from the cliffs as possible or moving to an upper floor that is less likely to be flooded.
