Pedro Vicente Pérez, executive director of the Confederation of Associations of Agricultural Producers of Venezuela, (Fedeagro), reported that extreme temperature conditions could affect economic activity, the cost of some products and therefore the consumer.
In an interview with journalist Jesús Salazar for the Panorama Informativo program, broadcast by Unión Radio 93.7 FM, he explained that the impact of external factors will depend on the areas and the change in temperature during the day and at night.
“It’s always a risk but we don’t know if irregular rains improve the weather,” he said.
He pointed out that the economic activity of agriculture depends a lot on external factors, in this case the weather.
He mentioned that the current scenario without fuel, financing and now the climate, harms the activity and enhances the problems of the agricultural world as part of the risk.
“It is a very risky activity of loss to food that is very important for a country,” he said.
He reported that in Venezuela there is a significant disorder in terms of the entry of agricultural products that translates into a high cost for the consumer.
