Extreme heatwave alerts in Seoul and across South Korea with citizens seeking relief in swimming pools and beaches

Yesterday (28th), with tropical nights appearing all over the country, including Seoul, the heat will continue today.

The Korea Meteorological Administration announced yesterday that tropical nights appeared in Seoul, Incheon, and Gangneung, Gangwon-do, as the temperature that rose during the day did not fall below 25 degrees overnight.

Last night’s lowest temperature was 26.1 degrees in Seoul, 26.5 degrees in Incheon, and 26.8 degrees in Gangneung, Gangwon-do.

Today, while heatwave warnings are in effect in most areas of the country, including Seoul, there will be showers.

The highest temperature during the day is expected to be 34 degrees in Seoul and Suwon and 32 degrees in Incheon.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said that the maximum sensible temperature will rise to around 33 to 35 degrees in most regions for the time being, and asked to take care of health.

From noon to evening today, there will be places where showers of 5 to 40 mm are centered on the inland areas such as the metropolitan area, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, and inland areas of Chungcheong area.
