Extremadura in History on this occasion travels the Mozarabic Way of Santiago. A set of historical communication routes in the south and the center of the Iberian Peninsula that acquired special importance during the Middle Ages since they linked the important ports of Al-Andalus with the great cities of the interior. The southernmost roads link the cities of Almería, Granada, Málaga and Córdoba with Mérida, where they continue the road along the Jacobean route of the Vía de la Plata.
