“Extremadura Dual Professional Schools for Employment Program Offers Subsidies for Projects Benefiting 1,485 Unemployed People”

MRIDA, 6 (EUROPA PRESS)

The deadline to apply for aid to develop the projects of the Extremadura Dual Professional Schools for Employment program remains open from this Thursday, April 6, and until next May 5.

The Minister of Education and Employment of the Junta de Extremadura has published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) the resolution approving the call for subsidies for the year 2023, for an amount of 36,150,000 euros. This call is addressed to entities that promote the projects of the Program of Dual Professional Schools of Employment of Extremadura.

It is expected that projects can be approved that will benefit 1,485 unemployed people, who will be trained and will be hired for 12 months by the entities promoting the projects.

This is a program for unemployed people registered in the Employment Centers of the Public Employment Service in Extremadura and who are over 18 years of age.

In addition, the call includes the requirement of a minimum commitment to subsequently hire for six months, full-time by private companies, of at least 40 percent of the participating people who pass the training itinerary with a positive evaluation. Thus, at least, it is estimated that 594 participants will have subsequent work experience in a company.

As stated in the call, the student-worker will receive a salary in the amount of 75 percent of the minimum interprofessional salary plus the corresponding extraordinary payments.

As a novelty, it is possible for the management and teaching staff to continue working on projects that begin in the months of October or November, the Junta de Extremadura reports in a press release.

BENEFICIARIES

The beneficiaries of this call for aid are local entities, their autonomous bodies and entities with competence in matters of employment promotion, dependent or assimilated to them, whose ownership corresponds entirely to said local entities.

Each entity may not submit more than one application and the maximum number of participants per project will be, depending on the population affected by the project, from 15 to 45 people.

The projects are expected to run from mid-October 2023 to October 2024.

Subsequently, the companies will be recruited for six months by part of the participating people who complete the training itinerary of the projects with a positive evaluation.
