Extraordinary session of the Reformed on the Locher case | Switzerland

SWITZERLAND [NEWS SERVICE] ⋅ The investigation in the Locher case is taking longer than originally assumed. There is to be an extraordinary session of the Synod to deal with the subject.

(mg) The Gottfried Locher case has been preoccupying the Evangelical Reformed Church Switzerland (EKS) longer than originally planned. As stated in a statement on Tuesday, the investigation work needs more time. The analysis work is complex and the pandemic is delaying work. The investigation report of the law firm commissioned is expected to be available at the end of February and the commission appointed will therefore only be able to continue the work with the due care later than planned.

Since the current schedule could not be adhered to, the Synod Presidium will propose to the Synod in June to schedule an extraordinary Synod for September 5th and 6th at the BernExpo. The topic should be dealt with. Gottfried Locher is accused of having used his power in several cases to get close to women against their will.
