Municipal School of Music and Dance
The Municipal School of Music and Dance offers a complete musical education with a wide variety of subjects, flexible and of quality for anyone who is interested in developing and enhancing their musical skills and love for it. The musical education is divided into different cycles. On the one hand, the music and movement cycle and the teaching of Classical Dance for children from 5 years of age, on the other hand, the teaching of Instrumental Training from 9 years of age and without age limit in which a complete and great variety of instruments is offered: Accordion, Classical Singing, Transverse Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Violin, Viola, Cello, Spanish and Electric Guitar, Electric Bass, Percussion, Bagpipes and Tambourine, Drums, Piano and Keyboards.
This musical offering is completed with the different workshops, complementary subjects and large groups that the School offers for anyone who is interested in taking them or participating: workshops on modern music, modern singing, jazz combos, musical production, modern harmony, folk ensemble and others.
They can also enroll in dance and traditional culture, which is taught at the Santa Cecilia Central Campus and at the Dámaso Ledesma Campus in Vistahermosa.
Classical dance and urban dance
In addition to all this offer, the new feature for this 2024/2025 academic year is the implementation of a training itinerary in Classical Dance by levels, thus addressing the need to create a structure that equates this specialty with the rest of the teachings that are taught at the School.
The teaching of this discipline will be structured in two levels: Initiation to Dance and Dance Training.
Students aged 5 and over can begin their dance studies by completing two years of initiation; at the end of this cycle, they will continue with dance training, which will also last two years.
In addition to all this, the Music School also offers two Urban Dance workshops, catering to the growing demand and tastes of the younger public, in which students learn current dances with trendy music.
