Not infrequently, these natural events have a significant impact on the life of living things on Earth. 1. Toba Supervolcano Eruption: when the earth was almost extinct!

The first natural event was the Toba Supervolcano eruption which occurred about 74,000 years ago in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Reported from the journal Quaternary International, this cataclysmic eruption is considered to be one of the largest and most destructive in Earth’s history. When this volcano erupted, volcanic dust and ash blanketed the sky, creating a year without a summer for decades. Plants die and animals go extinct, causing ecosystems to crumble.

However, behind the destruction, the Toba eruption left an extraordinary legacy. Many scientists believe that this eruption caused human “genetic savings”. The human population at that time probably dwindled drastically, and only a few people managed to survive. These people later became the ancestors of all of us.
