A truck and a fast train collided between the villages of Dimovo and Oreshets. The accident happened at an unguarded railway crossing. The two drivers and the driver of the truck died on the spot, Nova TV reports.
According to information from the regional directorate of the Ministry of Interior, the incident happened at about 13.30.
According to unconfirmed information, part of the train has derailed.
The truck was full of fraction for the newly built Sofia-Vidin high-speed road.
“The traffic between the stations Dimovo and Oreshets has been temporarily suspended due to an accident on the railway. In the section Vidin station – Drenovets station buses will be provided for passenger transport,” BDZ reported.
“Fast train №7623 (Vidin 12:25 – Sofia 17:17) stops in the interstation Dimovo – Oreshets due to an accident after illegal crossing of the railway line at the railway crossing near the village of Belshtitsa. The train will continue its movement after the investigation and clearing of the railway “, BDZ also announced.
